Fargol Ghorbani doesn’t just share her time to support Southlake Health. She shares her network, her kindness, and her Southlake story to inspire our communities.
For Fargol Ghorbani, what began as a deeply personal healthcare journey has transformed into a powerful force for community impact.
As a member of Southlake Health Foundation’s Community Cabinet, she gives more than her time; she brings people with her, inspiring others to join her in championing the hospital’s urgent needs. Through her role at RBC, Fargol has rallied colleagues from across the region to support Southlake in significant, hands-on ways, from volunteering at the Upper Canada Mall holiday gift-wrapping station to participating in and volunteering for the Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake. Her leadership has helped broaden Southlake’s circle of support, mobilizing new audiences to give back.
This commitment is deeply personal for Fargol. Diagnosed with cancer at 29, she received care at Southlake’s Regional Cancer Centre — an experience that reshaped her perspective and strengthened her connection to the hospital. Today, she uses her voice to advocate for the power of community-funded care, recently sharing her journey with donors, volunteers, and staff to remind them of what their support makes possible.
“It was a full-circle moment,” Fargol shared. “What often goes unseen is that this level of care doesn’t happen by chance. It’s driven by a community of people who choose to show up and invest in care in meaningful ways.”
That belief fuels her ongoing involvement. Whether she is organizing colleagues, volunteering at events, or sharing her story, Fargol is helping to ensure that patients and families continue to experience progress and hope, close to home.
Her impact is a powerful example of how lived experience, combined with leadership and generosity, can strengthen a community and the care it relies on.
