Four Southlake physicians recognized with provincial awards

Southlake Health celebrated four physicians who were recognized with prestigious provincial honours, reflecting the organization’s commitment to innovation, leadership, and patient-centred care.
Among those recognized was Alisha Kassam, whose Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Oncology Program received the Visionary Award from the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) for advancing equitable, age-appropriate cancer care. Through innovative programming and a focus on the unique needs of young cancer patients, the program is helping reshape oncology care across the province.
Matthew Laskin was named one of Toronto’s Top Doctors of 2026 by Post City for the second consecutive year, recognized by peers for his excellence in women’s health and patient-centred care.
In mental health care, Stephen Stokl received the 2025 Jane Chamberlin Award from the Association of General Hospital Psychiatric Services for his decades of leadership and advocacy supporting vulnerable populations.
Peter Watt was awarded Life Membership by the Ontario Medical Association (OMA), recognizing his outstanding contributions to the medical profession and health care across Ontario.
