Southlake Health as one of world’s top hospitals for seven consecutive years

In February, Southlake Health was proudly named one of the top three community hospitals in Ontario by Newsweek. This was the seventh consecutive year that Southlake was recognized as one of the World’s Best Hospitals. This year, Southlake was also one of the top four community hospitals in Canada, reflecting its steadfast commitment to delivering leading edge care, close to home.
Newsweek's annual World’s Best Hospitals ranking is powered by Statista, a global data firm, with input from a global board of renowned medical experts. Four data sources are used to evaluate the best medical institutions in 30 countries.
When York County Hospital opened its doors in 1924, it was a beacon of hope and healing for people living outside Toronto, who no longer had to travel into the city to receive care. Now, with a century of experience and expertise, Southlake continues to raise the bar. Every day, the Southlake Health family of 6,000 staff, medical staff, and volunteers work together deliver the leading edge care typically only available at large academic hospitals, close to home to some of the fastest growing communities in Canada.
As Southlake continues to expand its services and partnerships, this latest recognition reinforces its role as a leader in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care close to home.
