As part of its commitment to delivering leading edge care, close to home, Southlake Health is transforming the way care is delivered through major digital initiatives designed to strengthen patient safety, improve clinical workflows, and enhance the experience for patients and providers alike.
In 2025, a key milestone was the October 2025 launch of an upgraded electronic medical record system in partnership with Oak Valley Health and Stevenson Memorial Hospital through the Shared Health Information Network Exchange (SHINE). Developed in collaboration with MEDITECH, the upgraded system transitions many paper-based processes to a more integrated digital platform, helping support more coordinated care, improved communication between care teams, and enhanced safeguards for patient safety.
Southlake also moved forward with its Medication Management Transformation (MMT) project — a strategic initiative focused on modernizing how medications are procured, distributed, prescribed, and administered across the organization. By leveraging innovative technologies and streamlined processes, MMT is helping strengthen operational efficiency, support clinical excellence, and enhance medication safety at every stage of care delivery.
Together, these initiatives reflect Southlake’s Pride of Performance and its ongoing investment in digital innovation to create a more connected, efficient, and patient-centred healthcare experience for the communities it serves.
